迦攝摩騰尊者

中印度人，博通大小乘經典。東漢明帝時（永平十年，67A.D.），與竺法蘭尊者攜經卷、佛像共至洛陽；於白馬寺譯出《四十二章經》，為中國佛典最初傳譯者。

Kasyapa Matanga

From central India, Kasyapa Matanga was well-versed in both the Mahayana and Theravada teachings. During the reign of Emperor Ming of the Eastern Han Dynasty (67 A.D.), he brought Buddhist sutras and sculptures to Luoyang along with Gobharana. Together, they translated The Sutra of Forty-two Chapters and are known as the earliest translators of Buddhist sutras into Chinese.
